Your comfort zone is a temporary state of contentment.
You —at some point in your life—have convinced yourself that it is acceptable to settle for less, even though you have a burning desire to achieve more goals and dreams.
The truth is, if you do not feel challenged in your daily life, you have fallen victim to comfort. Every obstacle you face must have a level of complication that requires you to brainstorm multiple solutions before successfully resolving it.
If things are too easy, boring, or ridiculously dull, it is time to step out of your comfort zone.
Stepping out of your comfort zone
“Life always begins with one step outside of your comfort zone.” ― Shannon L. Alder
Life challenges you to unlock your true potential. Without challenges, you would have no desire to try, or learn new things, expand your knowledge, or achieve your dreams. You would lead a dull life, full of unexciting experiences.
Challenges push you to live and experience the wonderful world around you. Stepping out of your comfort zone introduces your once-limited frame of mind to new, unlimited possibilities. You must explore foreign environments if you desire knowledge and adventure.
As with most things in life, venturing away from your norm might sound hard or scary. But, your will to achieve goals, experience life, and live exactly how you want to live must be stronger than your fears about leaving your comfort zone.
Think about it: if you live in the illusion of fear and never venture into the unknown, you will never understand and experience all life has to offer.
The fear of the unknown
Have you ever asked yourself this question, “Why am I scared to get out of my comfort zone?”
Well, the answer can be one of two things.
One, you are too scared to explore something new, or two, you’re stuck in your comfort zone and have become too lazy and content to leave.
Either way, you are holding back yourself.
You have to make the decision to change your trajectory. Staying exactly where you are in life with no desire to level up is costing you everything. You’ll keep experiencing the same dull problems over and over again until you decide to do something about it.
It’s better to try your hand at something and fail than to not try at all. The thing is, failure is not an end-all state, it’s a hidden lesson. If you pay close enough attention, you’ll realize that you’ve begun to uncover the sketches of the map to your success.
Start expanding yourself
Failing to leave your comfort zone is accepting defeat when you’re almost winning the battle. To operate at your full potential you need to start incorporating things that you’ve never thought of doing.
Sometimes the road you need to take is the unconventional one. Be different from all your peers and do something everyone thinks is crazy. You’ll never know what you love until you try.
Step out of the box you’ve placed yourself in and allow your imagination to run wild. Question everything that intrigues you, do what you enjoy, and leave the rest behind.
You must be willing to expand your comfort zone to achieve all your dreams.
How to get out of your comfort zone socially
Do uncomfortable things
Whatever your norm is, do the opposite. If you’re reserved, start a conversation with a stranger. If you’re a social butterfly, do a social media detox and start spending more time alone.
Have zero expectations
Expectations are the main cause of unhappiness. For example, if your relationship doesn’t pan out the way you expected, you’ll become sad because your expectations weren’t met. Expecting a situation to turn out the exact way you imagine is controlling that situation. Let go and live.
Have an open mind
Being closed-minded and unwilling to try new things because they seem too “out-the-box” for you is keeping you in your comfort zone. Destroy the box and start coloring outside the line.
Let go of fear
Fear is a figment of your imagination; an illusion. Don’t allow it to stop you from elevating your life and expanding your wisdom. If you’re skeptical about trying something, and it isn’t dangerous or illegal, do it!
Appreciate everything
Being grateful that you have the ability to try and do what you desire will give you more courage to keep stretching your comfort zone. Giving gratitude humbles and centers you, and allows you to understand that this life that you live is short. Explore more and do what makes you happy.
Stepping out of your comfort zone holds unfathomable rewards. Don’t settle for less when you know you have the ability to achieve all you desire.

I’m going to start breaking down the box. Sometimes I can be too complacent in feeling like an introvert and not wanting to socialize but your right, it’s good challenge yourself.
I’m happy to see that you’re willing to challenge yourself Rosita, I’m proud of you and will be cheering you on every step of the way!
