A World Of Travel – Places I Will Visit

Navigating This Space-A world of travel

A world of travel is waiting

I used to daydream of being inside planes that would fly high above the clouds and other planes. Whenever I saw them, I tried to guess where they were going and where they were coming from. Little did I know that I would soon be in one of those planes, migrating from the beautiful island of Jamaica to live in America.

It was a bittersweet day, filled with tears and excitement. I was finally going to see a plane up close and actually get on it! I was fourteen and had lived a very sheltered life with my grandmother but my dreams of traveling were always at the front of my mind.

Fast forward a few years and my life looked one hundred percent different than the sheltered life I lived in Jamaica. The countries I’ve been to, the food I’ve indulged in, and the people I’ve met have all multiplied my desire to travel more.

Just to give you an idea of how drastically different my life became from the young girl who had only been to the beach a handful of times because I was restricted and my grandmother was (and still is!) terrified of the ocean. I’ve traveled to Malaysia, The Philippines, Honduras, Barbados, Australia, Singapore, and Hong Kong, just to name a few. I’ve lived in Japan, New York, Chicago, and California and solo traveled to Mexico. Not bad for a girl from Jamaica with big dreams of traveling.

I’m a passionate traveler.

I knew I was made to travel the world. Every culture fascinates me, every type of food interests me, my thirst to learn everything is insatiable. I was definitely a nomad in many of my past lives because I know the force I feel within me didn’t just happen overnight. My ultimate goal is to travel and live like a local on every continent. Yup, that includes the ones covered in ice as well.

Even though I’m not really a fan of the cold, I’ve seen tons of photos and videos of ships on the coast of Antarctica and all I can think about is how it would feel to be there basking in that sunlight and fresh air and listening to the silent whispers of Mother Earth. I would sleep like a baby!

I’m hooked on traveling and I don’t think I’ll ever stop…there are just too many things to see and so little time to see them. This is where my fantasy about being a vampire really resonates in the back of my mind because those suckers get eternity to travel this beautiful earth. I do realize that I have to come back to reality sometimes instead of living in fantasy land. Meh!

Climate Change

On a serious note, when I think about the destruction that humans have done to Mother Earth, it makes me sad because if we destroy this planet, our only home, where the heck are we going to live? Would humans even survive?

We really have to be more proactive when it comes to caring for this planet. How would you feel if you allowed a family member to live with you and they destroyed your place leaving only remnants of what was there before they moved in?

That’s what we’re doing to the earth. She gave our species a home to experience things we couldn’t experience anywhere else and we repay her by destroying her. We have to change what we’re doing if we want our grandkids to see and experience this beautiful planet.

Travel more to learn more

I’ve learned through traveling that a lot of stereotypes and taboos are only fears projected from fearful people. If you have the desire to travel, don’t let anyone project their fears onto you. They are absolutely terrified that you have the desire to seek new and exciting experiences. There will always be that one person who will try to convince you not to go but your willpower has to be stronger than their projection of fear.

Travel while you’re young!

Don’t wait until you’ve wasted your whole life working in a dead-end job before you decide to see the world. That type of thinking is no longer relevant. You rule your destiny, so create the life that you want to wake up to every day.

Create the life you don’t need a vacation from!

With my travel bug constantly biting me, I’ve decided to create a list of places that I would LOVE to visit and WILL visit within the next couple of years. Honestly, I’m not worried about the travel restrictions caused by the pandemic because, as with everything else in life, it too shall pass so I’m gearing up to go explore.
