5 Reasons You Should Do Whatever You Want

NavigatingThis Space-do whatever you want

There are many reasons to do whatever you want.

Happiness should be the main one.

We often think in terms of practicality when we make decisions, and while this can be helpful at times, it usually causes us to miss out on opportunities that might be right in front of our faces if we would just take a moment to think about what makes us happy.

In this article, I will share five reasons why you should do what you want!

What do you consider happiness?

Are you happy?

I don’t mean happiness in certain situations but happiness within your entire life. So I’ll as again, are you really happy?

The sad reality is that most people will answer “no”, but acknowledgment is the first step to changing your life.

To achieve happiness, you have to do whatever you want. Not what your parents, your partner, your family, or your friends tell you to do.

At the end of the day, you are left with your own thoughts and feelings.

No one else can feel exactly what you’re feeling or thinking unless you’re living a fictional movie that allows people to feel your feelings but until that type of technology is invented, you’re on your own with your thoughts in your head.

But in all seriousness, if you’re not pleased with the person you are when you go to sleep at night, something has to change when you wake up.

You can’t keep living your life the way others envision it for you. You have your own voice and your own experiences, so you must forge your own path.

Do what you want with your life in order to find happiness.

The only person holding you back from achieving your goals and dreams is you.

Here’s why you should do whatever you want

If you’ve done a self-reflection exercise and realized that there are things you could have done better if only you had trusted your gut feeling, then you know, deep down, that when you don’t do what you actually want to, you’ll have regrets.

Regretting decisions you’ve made or didn’t make can greatly affect your state of happiness.

For example:

You agree to have some friends over for a small dinner at 7 pm but at 6:30 pm you haven’t started cooking or cleaning so your only choice is to rush which creates more of a mess and pushes back dinner a few hours.

In this example, you’ll regret not planning better, not starting earlier, or regret inviting anyone over to begin with.

The goal is not to regret your actions or inactions but to learn from them. Everything in your life— every situation and interaction— is a lesson.

Reasons why you should do what you want

You will discover your happiness

Nothing will make you happier than doing what you want, exactly how you want to do it. Think about it: if you’ve failed at a project you’ve been working on because of a recommendation of someone else, the instinctive thing to do is to blame that person.

But, if you’re the only person responsible, you’re forced to look deeper into figuring out why that particular method didn’t work.

You’ll eventually get to the reassessment stage after you’ve realized that blaming others doesn’t solve anything.

Less stress means more productivity

Doing what you want will always create less stressful situations in your life.

Stress can be a good motivator but too much stress can knock your progress off track. The less stress you have to deal with, the better your overall life will be.

You’ll be more pleasant and easy going

When you know that you’re doing exactly what you want, there’s nothing that will kill your vibes.

You feel a sense of peace knowing that your present and future are ruled by you, and you alone.

People can give you their advice on what to do but ultimately you understand that if you say no, that’s where that conversation ends.

Confidence will begin to ooze from your body even when you’re doing nothing significant.

More Success in all Areas of Life

To be successful and enjoy it, happiness is a must. It will create more opportunities for you to be more successful because, in reality, you’re just having fun.

When you do what you want, the endless possibilities of success seem to magically come to you.

In contrast, if you feel stuck in a job you hate then that hate will lead you to feel miserable all time, which leads to you doing the bare minimum to get by, which ultimately means you won’t find success in that particular job.

Do yourself a favor and stop doing the things that don’t bring you joy.

No regrets just lessons

Wouldn’t it be grand to live a life of no regrets?

Doing what you want grants you the opportunity to test what you want, and live exactly how you want.

You’ll begin to ignore the limitations that society tries to force on you and excel in ways that you’ve only dreamed of.

Life is meant to be lived and enjoyed.

Don’t waste your time with things that don’t make you happy. There’s always another way to make the money you desire to live the life you want to live.

Stop holding yourself back!

If you have the urge to do something, do it. You have nothing to lose but a whole lot of experience and lessons to learn.

To be honest, it won’t be easy breaking away from what society thinks is normal but for your own sanity and happiness, you should do what you want to do.

The world will be a better place if you do what you want!

Whenever you think how you want and do the things you desire no matter the consequences the world will become a better place.

All your ideas that you’ve been keeping inside really need to be released to shine.

Sometimes, it will be hard to do things differently from other people, but that’s what makes you uniquely you.

Follow your heart and do what you love.

I want everyone who comes across this blog to feel inspired about their lives-so I’d like to ask:

“What has been one of your best decisions so far in life?”
